You wake up in the sand, feeling cold and clammy. You're on an unfamiliar beach. You have no idea how you got here, but judging from the way your damp clothes are clinging to you, you must have washed ashore. Standing up, you'll find yourself in an unfamiliar setting. The beach seems to wrap around what you can only assume is an island, leading up to a jungle. In the distance, you can see the faint beginnings of a path. But turning back to the sea, or what should be the sea, leaves you a little breathless. Yes, the sea is there, but that's not all. You appear to be on a floating island, as the water ends abruptly into the sky. It's not the only floating island, either. There are more nearby, some of them looking vastly different than your own.

How did you get here? You don't know. Your last memories are of a very different place. Perhaps something happened there or maybe nothing seemed amiss. Regardless, you're here now and it appears that you aren't alone. Who are these strangers? Were they the ones that brought you here? Even if you view them with suspicion, they seem just as lost as you are. No one seems to have any answers, so it's up to you to find those answers. Will you do it on your own or will you team up with others to try to find a way back home?

Prompt 1: Following the path

A little ways down the beach, there's a clearly made dirt path that leads into the jungle. It's wide enough that several people can walk side by side along it. If you dare to follow it, it'll take you through the jungle a ways, before bring you to a large clearing. In the center of the clearing is a plaza, surrounded by tree houses and other little huts and homes. It appears to be a village.

Upon closer inspection, you find that some of the houses have damage. Some looks like they were attacked by weapons, while a few on the edges, closest to the jungle, appear to have deep claw marks in the wood. What could have happened here? Still, this is a good start, right? There's signs of life, so you must not be alone here. Yet, while there's food and light on in the houses, they all appear empty. Was this place recently abandoned? What could have possibly happened here?

Prompt 2: Walk around the island

Walking along the beach will lead you to one of two different remains of a bridge. It's broken down and appears to have been abandoned. Unlike the village, this doesn't seem to have happened recently, but instead, over time from neglect. It's a mystery what these bridges lead to but there sure are a lot of materials near them. Maybe you should collect them, just in case?

Whether you're interested in repairing the bridges or not, it's clear that you won't be able to do so right away. Instead, you'll find that it's better to keep moving. And, on nearly the other side of the island, you find a strange little structure. There are a couple stone lanterns leading up to the small structure, which appears to be..a shrine? What's it doing here, on the beach? It also appears neglected and in need of repair. And more than that, the little door to the shrine is open, revealing that whatever was inside is now missing. How strange...

Prompt 3: Into the Jungle

Heading into the jungle to explore and figure things out might seem like the best course of action, but it's hard than it appears. The overgrowth is thick and without something to cut the plants out of the way, it'll be easy to find yourself unable to press forward. However, pressing forward has it's own dangers. Without knowing anything about this place, there's no telling what kind of plants or creatures you might find within. And if you're not careful, those who travel inside might find that they will have vastly different experiences from each other.

Note: While you'll be able to explore a small portion of the forest, regardless of the method you chose, you'll find that you can't make it very into it. You'll either feel increasing levels of discomfort the further you go in or you'll find certain areas are completely inaccessible, as though a barrier is preventing you from going any further.

i. Waking Up

[ Finding himself on an island was very unusual for the vampire. He didn't typically leave his area very often and a vacation was unheard of. Nor was it likely that he was kidnapped, as he typically was much stronger than expected. However, it was undeniable that he was hear now, that his clothes were damp so that he likely had come from the ocean. The smell of brine, the gritty feel of sand, the clear scent of the air, untainted by any form of pollution, were all strange to his senses.

Picking himself up, he took care in gently brushing himself off. He did so hate mess. A look around revealed what he already expected. None of his surroundings looked familiar. However, as he glanced back at the sea, his breath caught in his throat, forming a small knot. He wasn't expecting the water to end abruptly into the air. Something tightened in his chest and the first inklings of fear crept over him. Whoever could create such a land, an island and ocean in the sky, was far above whatever capabilities he had. Suddenly, he felt very small and insignificant in this place. What could he possibly do against such a being? He was strong, that much was true, but not strong enough to battle or threaten such a creature or being.

With a sigh, he turned away from the sight and unease it gave him. Whatever the case, he needed to find them and discover what they wanted from him. Surely he was brought here for some reason. He just had to find out what. ]

ii. Into the Jungle

[ Not finding much in way of others here, he ignored the obvious path and decided to head into the forest, choosing for now the left path. He glanced up at the trees, judging quietly which one would be best for what he wanted, and began climbing the first one he deemed sturdy enough to hold his weight. Going through the brush seemed to dangerous to him and he worried that he might alert something by trying to brute force his way through.

Glancing down, he noticed someone below. He watched them for a moment, before softly calling out to them. ]

Would you like help up?

[ Having already explored as much as he liked going from the left and having collected a few interesting plants that interested him, he turns and heads back to the beach. However, after jumping down from the trees, he isn't quite done exploring his surroundings yet.

For now, he neatly lays out his findings at the base of one tree before surveying them again. Time to go looking in a new direction. ]

I think this one will be best. [ He's talking softly to himself but loud enough that he might be overheard by anyone passing by.]

iii. Walking Around

[ Having had an enjoyable and somewhat fruitful exploration of the jungle, he decides to take it easy, looking around the beach. This time around, he's not exactly searching for anything. Instead, he finds himself leisurely walking around, enjoying the sun as it sets, if a bit chilled by the wind, and occasionally picking up sea shells to look at them.

He stops to pick up one in particular that catches his eye. Holding it up, he marvels a little at how the iridescent mother of pearl coating it shimmers in the slowly fading light. ]

How beautiful...

Into the jungle (A)

[Damp and irritable. That's Katsuki today as he stomps through the woods. He assumes he's here by some weird quirk incident. And he's already begun his search to figure things out.

He has a mental checklist of what he needs to find while it's still light. The most important being shelter and fresh water. His plan is to find fresh water and try to fashion a shelter near it.

He pauses at the sound of a voice, looking up into the trees with sharp red eyes at the stranger, trying to determine if he is friend or foe.]

If I wanted to be in the damn trees, I'd be in the damn trees. Who the hell are you?

[ It's strange red eyes that stare back at him. Red pupils and black sclera, giving the person above him an eerie quality about him. He smiles a little at the response, a soft chuckle escape him. He doesn't come down right away. Just as Katsuki is wary of him, Trinity is also wary of this stranger. He's used to others being a threat first and helpful second. Until he's certain this individual isn't a threat to him or his own, he won't fully trust him. But neither will he deny him help, should he need it. He looks so young... ]

Trinity Hebrews. You wouldn't happen to know how we got here, would you? Or more importantly, how we might get back?

[ Maybe he holds a clue, one he might not even realize he holds. Information is precious and he'll take whatever he can find in this strange, new place. ]

[Trinity's eyes don't unnerve him. They remind him of Mina Ashido. Weird eyes are nothing unusual in a world where quirks can make people look entirely inhuman.

Since Trinity isn't attacking him, he relaxes just a little. Although his expression remains... let's just say he has impressive resting bitch face.]

Quirk incident, probably. But I don't know any details. Have you seen any of the pros around?

[He has his provisional license so if it comes down to it he can fight any villains who turn up. But he'd still like to find some pros. Especially if it turns out Shigaraki and his crew are involved.]

[ That gets a small head tilt from him as he considers the words. Unfamiliar words that don't mean anything to him. ]

What's a quirk? Pros?

[ Normally, he can usually piece together what someone means by the smallest of details but not this time around. Regardless, it seems like this young man has some idea of what's going on. ]

I take it this isn't an unusual experience for you, then. Good. [ He shifts carefully, stretching lightly before letting himself step away from the branch and fall to the ground. Despite that, he lands lightly on his feet in an impossible way. Not weird in the traditional sense, given that he's seen quirks, but something about it is... strange. Alien. Not human. There's a small impression in the ground from where he landed but shouldn't it be deeper, given how far he fell? Something is definitely strange about the whole thing. ] Since you know what's going on, you'll be able to help me sort things out. I need to get back. It isn't good if I'm gone too long.

[ Both for the supernatural community and for personal reasons. But he isn't about to reveal too much about himself just yet. ]

[He doesn't know what a quirk is? Or pros? That, more than anything else, has Katsuki hesitating.]

You're telling me you don't know about quirks or pro heroes?

[He doesn't strike Katsuki as the sheltered sort. So maybe...]

The society you know... does it have super human abilities?

[Let him figure something out first.]

The supernatural world? Yes, I suppose they do.

[ That gets another soft chuckle from him and this time, when he smiles, he flashes his fangs. He isn't human and he isn't ashamed of it, either. ]

So quirks are what you call people with abilities where you're from, little one? Strange. [ It's unusual but not unheard of that other countries would refer to their hidden side by different names. But a catch all for them is... a bit more than unusual. ]

We don't exactly have heroes where I'm from, however. And we do try to keep the supernatural world and the human world from mixing. It's better for all involved if certain people mediate that fine line. [ He doesn't offer up that he's one of those mediators, not yet. He's still testing him a bit, feeling out what other information he can get out of him before he gives up too much about himself. ]

Can't really call it 'supernatural' when eighty percent of society has a quirk--a super power. World-wide, those are the numbers. It's more unusual not to have one where I'm from.

[Which gives him the answer he wants. He's smart enough to work out what that means.]

I don't think we come from the same worlds, based on what you're saying.

[Which means no pros, likely. He'll have to figure shit out.]

Either way, plan is the same. We find shelter, water and food so we can survive. And then we find the person responsible and kick their ass to make 'em send us back.

[Congrats on your find, Trinity. A baby hero in training who is preparing to shoulder full responsibility for a group of strangers in a foreign world because that's just how heroes do.]

Super power implies that you're human.

[ He tilts his head, considering him carefully. Oh, he worked it out rather quickly but he isn't the type to simply believe what he's told. He'll need a little more proof before he believes in other worlds. Still, it's true that they seem to have vastly different experiences. That much, he can admit. ]

And as someone who's never been human, I would have to agree. We likely come from vastly different places.

[ He glances around, before nodding. He has no interest arguing with him. It's true that they do need to find all those things. ] Shelter will likely be most important, as the sun will be going down soon and damp clothes means a higher chance of vulnerability to the cold. [ He's going to take this opportunity to climb the tree again, more interested in having a higher advantage than staying grouped together. He can likely find him again. Still... He feels around his pockets and manages to find one item that did make it with him on this impromptu journey. It'll take time and materials he doesn't have to make it again but for now, he has three and that's enough. He tosses what looks like a glowing marble at Katsuki. ]

Hold onto this, in case we get separated. It's magic will ensure I can find you again. [ And then, with a slightly teasing smile, he adds. ] I would hate to lose a potential snack.

[ His food isn't only typical meals, Katsuki. He's a vampire, as his fangs showed, and he'll need to get blood eventually. Human isn't his preferred type but it'll be enough to tide him over. ]

[Katsuki gives him a dirty look as he turns the marble over in his hand. His free hand comes up and making eye contact, he lets off a few explosions with it as a slow, lopsided and unpleasant grin crosses his face.]

Wouldn't advise it if you wanna keep your face. I'll blast it off before I let you or anyone turn me into a snack.

[Oh to be young. Teenagers always think nothing bad can happen to them. And this one is cocky and self assured and always ready to fight.]

[ It's tempting, to go down and prove him wrong. A small part of him wants to play with him some more. But no, he needs to focus for now. As fun as it would be to show him exactly how experienced Trinity is with feeding, even from unwilling snacks, now isn't the time. And they'll need to keep working together, something he can't guarantee if they get off on too much of a wrong foot. It'll have to wait until later, when he's sure that toying with him won't lead to dire consequences.

For now, he grins widely again, purposefully not hiding his fangs. Yes, this is bound to be fun. ]

Cute. So long as you aim for my face and avoid my tattoos, it shouldn't be an issue. But play time will have to wait until later, kiddo. For now, we need to focus on getting everything ready. Snack time can wait.

[Katsuki glowers at him, but... yeah. More important things to do.]

We'll meet back on the beach in an hour to report what we find.

[He's sure he can find his way back to the beach.]

Whatever you say, little hero.

[ He inclines his head lightly, to show that he'll follow his lead, but his slight smile denotes that he's still in a teasing mood. He doesn't stick around to chat much longer than this, however. Goals in mind, it's better to collect as much information as possible and return to compare notes.

As long as he doesn't get lost, Katsuki will find Trinity returning to the beach shortly after an hour. He jumps down nimbly from the trees, a handful of rare plants, herbs and mushrooms lightly clutched in one hand. He's going to take his time laying these out in a small pile, next to what appears to be a pile that's already at the base of a tree. Looks like he did more than one journey into the jungle. Once they've met up, he'll find that he doesn't have the upper hand anymore, however. This time, the vampire isn't interested in handing control over to someone so young. ]

What did you find? We can compare notes after you tell me what you've discovered.

Don't tell me what to do!

[Katsuki bristles at the orders. He doesn't like being told what to do and he has a temper that gets stoked easy.

But despite the loud and angry talk and the sour look on his face...]

There's a village of some kind. Tree houses. Looks like something might have attacked and there was no sign of whoever lives there. It's weird that there isn't even one person there.

[Then, arms folded;]

Your turn.

There are some interesting plants and herbs around here. I can tell they have magical properties but it'll take some time to figure out what they do. Fascinating.

[ He's glad to find something interesting for him to study. While this strange place is peculiar, he's more interested in finding out about the flora and figuring out what they can do, rather than trying to find a way back immediately. If it was simple to find a way back, he likely wouldn't have been taken in the first place. If some mysterious being or force can bring him here, then it's very likely that he won't be let go until whatever plans it has are fulfilled. ]

I also noticed there has been some. Hmm. Changes to my body, I suppose you could say? Or, rather, some limitations placed on what I am and am not capable of.

[ He stands up fully, turning to face him. ]

But you mentioned a village. I take it that it's likely at the end of the path? Very well, lead the way. We should further explore it. It might hold some clues as to what's happening.

[ He's ignoring that outburst, for now. Best to focus on everything else and deal with comparing who is more capable at leading later. ]

[Jaw tight, expression still sour, he turns and starts walking.]

That was already the plan, damn you! It's this way. Try to keep up, old man.

[Give him time, Trinity. He'll cool off. Sort of. Eventually. But for now he leads the way down the path towards the village.]

[ That gets a small, soft chuckle out of him. How quaint. He remembers rather vividly his teenage years and his rebellious attitude, although his had come a bit later in life, due to certain circumstances. But it's nostalgic, seeing that fire and confidence of being always right and in charge that's amusing to him. ]

Since you insist, I'll do my best to keep pace.

[ Despite his words, he does take a few small detours to look at mysterious plants along the road. However, before he can get annoyed over the wandering, Trinity will move inhumanly fast and appear quite near him, grinning ever so slightly, as if to say keep leading the way. ]

[Katsuki stops whenever he realizes Trinity isn't with him he stops and gives him dirty looks. Getting increasingly more annoyed. Because all it takes is noticing to irritate him.]

You can stop to smell the damn flowers later. Focus, damn it.

[Moody boy is moody. But they're coming up on the village now and he points.]

Right up here.

Why wait? They have quite a unique scent. It's best to enjoy it while it's still fresh. And it isn't like much will change, whether we get there sooner or not. But, if you prefer to focus on the destination rather than the journey, I suppose it can't be helped.

[ Another quiet laugh, although he easily falls in step besides him once again.

Once they arrive, Trinity looks around curiously. However, Katuski is about to learn that one of the myths about vampires is true. When it comes to taking a look inside any of the houses, unless the door is already open, he will decline. ]

While I can work around it under some circumstances, unless I'm invited in, I cannot enter. I'll look around out here, you can check things out inside.

Luffy | One Piece

i. Casual Arrival

Waking up on a sandy beach is nothing new for Luffy. As a pirate, he's used to visiting different kinds of islands. What is new is the fact that none of his crew and his ship are in sight. In fact, nothing familiar is around, at all.

Weird.

But looking around reveals that-- Wait a second, are they in the air? On a floating island?

How cool!

He hasn't been to a floating island since Skyepia! How did he get here? Did he get rocketed up into the air by a water spout? Or had Kuma sent him flying here? Right, Kuma! His last memories are of that fateful fight, where he and his crew were utterly defeated. He needs to find them again.

This is no time to get distracted! Gotta find the rest of them. Zoro. Nami. Sanji!

He begins wandering around, calling out various members of his crew.

Usopp! Robin! Franky. Brook. Chopper. Where are you guys?

ii. Follow the Yellow Brick Road

After searching for his crew and finding no leads, Luffy has come to only one conclusion. His stomach growls and he groans.

I'm hungry~

Spotting a path in the distance, he grabs a nearby tree and pulls back, stretching his arms out so he can sling shot himself through the air and land closer. Maybe if he follows that, he'll find some people. And more importantly--

Food! Here I come!

iii. George, George, George of the Jungle! Watch out for that--

Having found the village was interesting but he hadn't found any immediate people there. So, there was likely no food there, either. Which means, he's going to have to go into the jungle and try to find something to eat for himself there. His stomach growls again and he clutches it, groaning.

Hungry... Food. Need food. Now.

He's so hungry. However, he hasn't been paying attention to his surroundings and ends up accidentally tripping over a tree root, falling flat on his face. It doesn't hurt but he just lays there for a moment, sulking. He wants to find his crew. He's hungry. He doesn't care if he's acting like a petulant child. It sucks being alone!

Hungry. Where are you guys?
